I just removed the trans out of my 97 taurus AX4N and i cant get it back in. what am i supposed to do for a removal? I dropped the front mounts of the sub frame and i got it out with help from gravity. I just cant seem to get it back in. Am i supposed to drop all subframe mounts? I am doing it in garage with out a lift. Any help and info would be appreciated.
Thanks Sidman |

Re: how do i get transmission back in
never really did a tranny but if I did I prolly would have rented a lift or bought one and just pulled the motor then the tranny throught the engine compartment. if you are not careful you may screw the sub frame and related parts up. but like I said I never did a tranny.. I guess my advice would be to get some help wigglein that baby back in there.
good luck |

The complete subframe has to come out and then when you get the tranny installed you have to support it while you put the subframe back in.
