what aftermarket alarms and remote starters are good?
Hi. I want to get an aftermarket alarm and a remote starter for my JGC '94 and I don't want to spend fortune on them. Any ideas which ones are good and if anyone has done it, is it a pain in a neck to install them? Thank you.

I have a
DESIGNTECH AutoCommand® Deluxe Remote Car Starter (model # 26024). I paid $99.99 at autozone. it is relatively easy to install, the REMOTE STARTER part is very easy to install, the keyless entry part is a B!&#H to install. and finding a good place to mount the module was fun...lol but all in all it wasn't too bad. |

Check on ebay. There are some great deals on there. Its much cheaper than buying them at the store. Just a heads up, if you don't know much about installing them...have a professional do it. They are a pain in the ass to install unless you have a lot of patience and time. Any alarm by D.E.I. is a very good alarm/remote starter. If you check out their website, you can see all the alarms they manufacturer. Expect to pay around $120 for a decent one. That's what I paid for mine and it even has the two-way pager system remote too.

the alarm system (when triggered) sends a signal to your pager remote telling you (by vibrating or beeping) that your alarm is going off and which part of your car was messed with that set it off. Now keep in mind that it only works when you are within range of 2000ft to 2500ft.

Have a pursuit/prestige on kids car works well.
Which ever you decide on check with the manufacturer to see if they have an adapter harness so you won't need to cut wiring. |

ahh ok, just like the Clifford Matrix RX3.5. it also has a digital pafer/remote that shows exhaust coming from the tailpipe when started, and if any of the doors/hood/trunk are open or messed with, it was a pretty sweet set-up but it cost alot more.
