Question noisy fuel pump

Get a noise from the fuel tank that increases as the amount of gas in tank decreases. Have been told that it could be a vacuum leak at the tank, but not sure if a vacuum line goes to the tank? any comments/help would be appreciated regarding the noise

Re: noisy fuel pump

Fuel pump. Mine did the same thing. It gets louder when the tank gets low because the pump is not muffled by the gas anymore. I changed mine and the noise was gone. I've talked to some people that put new pumps in that were noisey from day one, so there is no telling how long they'll last.

Angry

I've replaced my fuel pump 3 times and 2 outta 3 screamed most of the time, mostly when low on fuel,. Just live with it till the SOB stops pumping fuel, even though it makes you wanna run the truck off a cliff.
