key trouble 97 3.1

ok here goes my first thread. when i go to park the car sometimes, about a third of the time i will put the car in park but the key wont turn all the way to allow me to remove it but if i wait about a minute i hear a click from the dash area and then itallows me to turn it all the way and be able to take it out. its been happening for awhile. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like your steering linkage or tranny linkage is locking up and not allowing you to remove it til it settles. Could just be a bad ignition switch though. Good luck and welcome to the forum.
