Post Stock BOV

Hey everyone just had a quick question. I know that the 2g talon eclipse are suppose to run 12-14psi i believe stock. Does the stock BOV leak so much that it dosent reach those levels of boost. And will a aftermarket BOV help push at a higher level of boost.

Re: Stock BOV

The BOV's are said to leak at anything >15psi. Have you removed your BCS restrictor? If you are looking for a replacement BOV and don't need all of the "bling, bling"......just go with a 1g BOV. You can pick them up for about $40 and they will hold enough pressure to keep you busy for then next 2 years

Re: Stock BOV

Mine only ran 9psi with the stock BOV. On a 1g it did 20+, so there's your leak. Get a boost gauge, every car is different. Don't spend $200 on a BOV expecting a big gain, since the max recommended boost on a stock t25 is only 16psi.

Re: Stock BOV

Get a 1gen BOV.... and then BURN THE 2GEN PLASTIC POS!!!!!!!!!! or sell it to some honduh low boost loser .... or save it like I did.... that way when my car got totaled I was able to replace the 1gen bov with the stock one.. Now I don't have to hunt one down....again

Re: Stock BOV

2g bov's are jokes...seriously when i took it off to install my 1g bov i laughed. Get a UICP and a 1g bov cheap for like 150. David Brode UICP and used 1g.

Different people say different things about where the 2g leaks, but i have found that it is usually a small leak past 12 but will rarely hold more than 14. Uncrushed, the 1gbov can hold 18psi.
