Re: Progress: Tamiya Mercedes Benz CLK DTM 200
sweet, i'll make sure to stop by your thread! i'm a bit nervous to do the decals on this cuz i suck at decals... they always look horrible and fake and fall off and whatnot. so i'm gonna order some microsol and some microscale to help me out a bit before i go ahead and finish this build.

Re: Progress: Tamiya Mercedes Benz CLK DTM 2000
Don't worry about the decals, they're really easy to do, especially on a Tamiya kit. I'm actually gonna finish up work on my Opel Gullwing tonight, just have trim work and full body decalling to do.

Re: Progress: Tamiya Mercedes Benz CLK DTM 2000
wow i was surprised to see this near the top of the forum again. i haven't cleared it yet but i guess i will now that you mention it. do you recommend using the microsol and microset on this or do you think i will be fine without it?

Microset first its not so hard on the decal. If it still wont stay down or wrapping around egde you still can go back over microsol with brush,go easy-on with it it'll desolve a decal in heart beat.

Re: Progress: Tamiya Mercedes Benz CLK DTM 2000
thanks. one more questions though. isn't one of them used for under the decal? or are they both for over the decal?

I use microset by it's self.wet the decal down by using brush and putting some on the surface of the model so it doesnt dry to quik,so it can move the decal around to right spot.Using a flat brush #4 seems to work for me.Microsol I like use mostly on carbon fiber decalling because needs wrap around a model piece and if you desolve it its not that hard to replace unlike normal decal you get with your kit.

Re: Progress: Tamiya Mercedes Benz CLK DTM 2000
Yep, I build one and the decals can be a bit tricky. All you need is patience. I only used water on mine, turned out just fine. I have only recently started to use a decal adhesive - from Humbrol, pretty good - for my Enzo.
