Question 2002 325Ci Navigation sytem question

Does anyone have a navigation in a 2002 3 coupe (i think its different from pre 2002 modles because the screen is now a 16:9 widescreen)? I want to know where the cassette player is located. The dealer told me it is hidden behind the LCD screen. I want to know because I was going to hook up a MP3 player but I need to do it through the tape player. It will be a problem if the cassette slot is hidden and only visible when you need to access it. I guess I could always go with a cd changer in the glove box. If anyone has pics that would be great!

ps. Is the new nav system worth getting? i got it and im wondering if I made a mistake...

7 more weeks to go and counting....

I am not sure if the widescreen carried over to the 3-series or not. I do not have any pics for you, sorry. But the nav system can't possibly be a mistake, albeit it is a costly option, I am sure that it will prove invaluable on road trips and what not. IMHO, no BMW option is a mistake, it is the firs step in differentiating your car from other peolpe's.

I almost forgot, good luck with the wait, it was tortue for me, but visiting the forums helps to ease the pain.

Hi Punkman,
I just ordered a 2002 318 touring (with widescreen sat nav), and yes, the cassette slot is indeed hidden behind the screen, which moves forward to allow access when needed. I also had the same consideration about hooking up an MP3 player (Apple's iPod), but I found an interesting possible alternative to a cassette adapter at this website:

http://www.everythingipod.com

It's basically a small FM transmitter that plugs into the MP3 player's mini-jack output and transmits a radio signal on a clear FM frequency that can be picked up by your radio and therefore played through your speaker system....neat idea! Costs about 30 US dollars I believe, so pretty cheap too, if it works....I'm gonna wait until I get my car in a couple of months to find out myself!

Hope this helps...
