My friend met a CELEB, too!

My friend informs me today that she met Orson Scott Card yesterday. Now, I am a HUGE Ender's Game FREAK, so since she didn't tell me, I am p-o'ed beyond belief, but still, I digress...

He says that he got a new director for the Ender's Game movie, and the screenplay is still in the writing stage... (which for followers, nothing's really changed for years now).

Um, yeah, so... I'm jealous of my friend, and I won't say anymore b/c I might turn green with envy, and that's not pretty.

I'd hardly call an old Sci-Fi writer a celeb

Re: My friend met a CELEB, too!

Yeah, Ender's Game was my favorite book for years, but I was never really that big on any of the sequels. The only decent sequel/spinoff was Ender's Shadow, but it didn't really compare. Meeting the author would be interesting, but I'm not sure I would really have much to say to him other than "I liked your book".

Edit: Where do you live, Greensboro?

Re: My friend met a CELEB, too!

BTW the closest thing I've met to a celebrity was Louis Gosset Jr. when I was 16..(CAPPY!!NOOOO!!!) To bad that by then the guy had'nt made a decent film in a while (Iron Eagle 13 or whatever) and was doing some theatre or something...Oh well...I'll choose to live vicariously through others good fortune untill my day arrives...

Iv read a few of the Enders series, but Im missing some of the books in the middle, and I don't want to read them out of sequence.

Very cool series though, I would have loved to havet him!
Although I would rather meet Ian M. Banks first

You seem to be fairly selective when laughing at my sentence. I was inferring that the smell was caused not by nerds, but by them getting excited. And I can promise you, I'm about as excited as about this dude as I am about you. 0%.

WTF are we on about again?

Raz - I dunno. I read about the evils of drugs a few years ago. So I gave up reading.

Re: My friend met a CELEB, too!

So people actually read books for fun? Like without having to do it for homework?

I'm shocked
