Radio says "BAD"...What does this mean?

I have a 1995 Ford Windstar 3.8...The radio was working fine this morning, and now it says BAD....No music and no warning...

Please any info would be great!

Don't know if this would help but I would try removing all power from the radio including the memory lead in an attempt to reset it. Pulling the unit out and leaving it for about a minute should do the trick.

It may not help but worth a shot.

I have seen BAD and BAD CD on the newer ones, is there a cassette in the unit now? It may be jammed or seized.
If not I have fixed the error in CD units with a cleaning disk (they have a row of small brushes to clean the laser lens. You may also try a wet type of cassette cleaner if it's not a CD. Let it dry thoroughly before trying a tape again.
