hmmm... 200ZR maybe?

Well guys.. the time has come for me to replace the 300.. time are a changing and gas and insurance costs are rising, so it's time to get something that either doesn't guzzle as much gas... or has more power than this one and takes about the same amount of gas.

i've been talking to a local import company lately, seeing if they're able to find a good quality 200ZR to import from japan... the guy i've been talking to (christian from importconcern.com) said that for the condition of car i'm looking for would end up costing around 5 grand after importation fees and all that... so 5 grand for a minty 200zr is pretty freakin sweet, the only problem is that it'll probably take quite a bit of time to get into canada.. depending on some things it could take 2 months, it could take as much as 8... now as sweet as 215 turbocharged hp stock sounds, and the fact that it will probably be the only one in western canada is pretty tempting, i'm not sure if i can wait for that long...

which brings me to my next option. i've been doing quite a bit of research on those rear mounted turbo's (as much as i can anyway) and i think i'd like to try making that setup work on a nice light fuel efficient 4 banger, which i've been trying to decide what kind of car i'm going to go with. there's a few options... try and find a decent 240sx with a good engine in it, or go with something i'm a little more familiar with, such as an integra... now for the integra i know Exactly what i need in order to make it work, whereas the 240 i'd have no freaking clue.. i've even got an uber leet mspaint blueprint drawn up for the turbo system on the integra... it's pretty similar to the design that STS uses, so hopefully i'm not infringing on any patents or anything...

depending on what the guy from import concern says, hopefully i'll have this all decided by the end of next week at the latest.. holy crap this turned into a long post... my bad

I couldn't help notice the storm trooper. I think I watched too long. Should I be worried?

I guess I don't worry too much about gas here in the states even though it'll be $3 a gallon soon enough. The G35 I got coming will still get twice as much as the truck and the van I've been driving. I finally get a car that gets around 20mpg and gas doubles. So much for saving. As for your dilemma. Patience is a virtue. Having a 1 of a kind car is cool. I personally like the integra over the 240, but there's alot of them. If you want a more unique car it's the 240. Either way, as far as a patent goes, just be careful who you pop the hood for.

200ZR all day long...there is no doubt in my mind. rarity, quick, can be made quicker, RWD, its still a Z so you dont have to worry about being like wes (j/k)...

anyways, you have a full time job. just keep shedding out the money for gas until your 200ZR arrives. well thats my thoughts about the whole thing...gas is expensive but it woudlnt stop me from buying what i really want.
figure it up, how much will it actually cost extra a month to own a older Z than your integra in gas a month. it might be like $10-$15...now figure how much your insurance is gonna go up on an integra a month, beings its newer and its worth more money.

Re: hmmm... 200ZR maybe?

actually it's about 150 bucks more on my 300 than on my old integra per year... and it's not so much the amount of gas i'm worried about, it's about the amount of gas being used to produce a cirtain amount of power that i'm worried about... i figure at the rate i'm consuming fuel i should be driving about a 250 hp car, where it's actually more like 150... there's something wrong with it and i can't figure out what it is... maybe the engine's just too old and tired and is starting to give out or something, who knows.. with the integra it'd have more power (faster anyway) and use less gas, and the 200zr would be just plain freakin awesome so who cares about gas

Re: hmmm... 200ZR maybe?

I am looking for a project 240Z or early model Z to make into a VK56 monster....... no rush, still working on my Super-Z32 right now. You know I have looked at 5 engines in the past month and none of them have been really worth my time. Getting fustrating.

i can only imagine it being a $150 higher than it was on the teg because of the teg's accident. im sure your insurance premium rose...i would get yourself a quote on your integra insurance and then on your Z insurance and see how much money you will really be saving yourself a month. i bet it would come out to be the same because i cant see a much older car worth less money having higher insurance than the teg.

Re: hmmm... 200ZR maybe?

well i've figured out a way to drop my insurance prices by about 950 bucks for the zed... the way i see it, if i do happen to write it off, the insurance company will MAYBE give me 2500 for it, then the $500 deductable.. 2 grand isn't really worth the premiums going up again if i'm allready paying 950 bucks for the year... BUt... if i happen to get a car that's worth a bit more, i'll probably want to put collision back on it. anyway that's just my thought of the day... now i go back to stare at a wall and vegetate..
