Couple of months ago is when my old 98 went down the drain and I decided on building one up. Well the graphics card I installed has this NVIDIA thing where it's the GeForce FX 5500 or something, I can make some of my windows transparent, so right now with the C6-R as my background, I have MSN Messenger trasnparent, and the Internet Explorer transparent so I can see what's underneath them, now I can still see font and colors and what not but, I don't know, hard to explain, but I didn't know if any of you knew of anything like this, guess I'm just kind of excited with it. So now I can be surfing AF yet I'll be able to see who's online without changing windows, and I'll be able to look at my beatiful background! Haha. Weird to get used to but I thought I'd share with some of you about this, never even knew it until right now, screwing around on the cp at 4 in the morning.

Post a screenshot.

Hit printscreen on your keyboard, and paste it into photoshop or paint, and save and upload the picture.

I have the 5500 on my win2k machine and i never saw anything about transparent windows.

I run 2 monitors anyway, all the desktop space I'll ever need.

My mom told me that it was something with XP and not the graphics card, because she has it on her laptop, I didn't know any different though. I'll get a couple of screenshots too.

Mine has it, right click on something, nVeiw Options-Transparent.

Awesome. I'll look into it the next time I start up the Win2k machine. Only have an Geforce 5200 on my xp machine

Strange, I just installed the most recent nvidia stuff, and I see no transparency option, in the right click on desktop>properties>settings>advanced or start>control panel> nvidia desktop manager

no, Right click like mozilla, in the taskbar. It brings up the Minimize-Restore- Maximize-Close bar thing, Then go to nVeiw Options, and transparecy is in there. Don't have anything else on your taskbar when you do this though, you won't be able to click Transparent.

I've got nview options and all that, but transparent is unclickable, at least in opera it is. I have several tabbed windows open, that might be what you meant. I'll try it with firefox in a few.

you have a critical update for firefox, make sure you get it.

Thanks for reminding me, I was on AF a couple weeks ago and it poped up cause I didnt feel like installing anything at the time, I was gonna install it later and I forgot. Now that you reminded me I just finished updating.

I cant click transparent either.....and IE is the only tabbed app i have running.

is IE the only thing running on the taskbar? you can only have one object on it at one time. I know thats how it is for me. Weird..

yeah, ive tried it with other apps when they are the only tab on the taskbar and it still wont work.

I can have multiple windows be transparent at one time. Sometimes thought it will be a pain in the ass, either it won't let me select transparent for IE or something when I know I can, or it won't even show the nView options selection. gadamn computers...
