i was looking at a 1984 Buick Riviera the other day
the guy said it needs a battery and valve cover gaskets....no biggie. i go and look at the car it has very little rust the orginal 307.......110,000 orginal miles......interior is in good shape....well he pulled is car over to the Buick to jump start it. i talked to him and turns out i know the guy!! we talk and he jumps in the car and it cranks right over and fires up, damn near any car for sale should run so i dont get excited. well we let the car warm up and i get in and tap the gas to idle it down...before i go and listen to the motor i goose it a couple if times....throttle response is damn near stunning. i get out and walk to the front of the car.....not one lifter tick....no knocks....just smooth silence. im blown away, he gets in the car and puts it in reverse and it moves without even straining the motor!! he telss me $200 ya thats not a typo two-hundred bucks!! it used to be his work car and he own a new Taurus. Should I jump on this?? i dont see a problem at all.....all the fluids looked fresh and didnt smell burnt. thanks guys |

YES !!
Definitely get it. Don't part it out! Drive it and fix anything that's wrong. It'll be good to have another '79-85 owner on this site. Good luck, Mark |
