where is #11 and does mclaren still have anything to do with Shalford?
firstly i have just got back from my dads house, near woking, he said that he saw a light metalic blue f1 in the local area i think it was probably #11 but i just wanted to ask if i am right and also if anyone has more information on the car?
also he is moving to shalford, i know it was mentioned in driving ambition, but do mclaren have anything to do with shalford anymore? |

011 is not light blue. it is a dark pearl blue with a high downforce kit. The car he saw was probably #040. Do a search and many pics will come up. I've heard reports of a blue car in Europe, possibly Switzerland or the Netherlands, but have seen no proof.

Shalford? In what context? Is it a service centre? Old testing ground? Supplier?

McLaren Composites, the company set up to produce the carbon monocoques for the F1 was originally located in Shalford. Previously the building was a Ferrari design centre when John Barnard was still working for them so the place was already set up for autoclaving carbon composites I would presume.
A few years ago, the whole operation was moved to the south coast where it remains to this day. It continues to produce monocoques for the SLR project amoungst other things. There are a couple of people on here that could probably give you more details. Nice place Shalford - nicer than Woking anyway... |

chris, the blue f1 is certainly not in holland, the guy said that it was, in his eyes, nonsense to store it in holland since we have no circuits or any place at all where he can exploit its magic, only the orange 71 might have been spotted in holland
