lowering an 05
I know that in every lowering post it is said that it is a good idea to get a new set of shocks/struts because those are prolly already worn out and the ride will be rough and this is true, now on my 05 I don't have many mile on it would it also be a good idea to get new ones or would the stock ones work in this case. I only want to lower the car about 1.5 inches. and if I did keep the stocks would they wear out alot faster from the increased stress.

Re: lowering an 05
its not about the time on car. it is more about the quality. stock struts are just not as good. so anyone that lowers i and i am sure anyone would recommend replacing with an aftermarket shocks and struts doesnt mean u have to but. the ride quality is not going to be very good and your strut and shocks will go bad. and it will get worse.

Re: lowering an 05
This isn't a cheap mod too. For a good/safe setup expect to spend 800+ on up. Read the how to post above on lowering your car and you will find all the info you need on spring and strut reviews. Alot of the ones listed in there as not out yet are out. Like the AGX's are now out and thats what i have, but still waiting on my last front strut that is on backorder. Damn them!

I have always waned to put airbags on my car I like tha you can slam it when parked but be able to raise it when driving and going over inclines and such. anyone know off the top of thier head what a full install would cost.

Re: lowering an 05
2-2.5 fold as much as i did for my Prokit and AGX. Easy Street runs just shy of $2K bucks for the complete setup and assuming you do it yourself figure a long weekend install. If somone does it for you, lord hope you have deeeep pockets...

Re: lowering an 05
if you lower your car tyhe spring rate will be higher. The stock dampers (struts) are made to work with the softert stock springs and when the spring rate is increased the damper can no longer effectively dampen the bouncing that a spring naturally wants to do! Result, you hit a bump and bounce all over the place!
