Yellow? Yikes! Fisher-Price-mobile.

1. Sandblast
2. three coats of primer
3. three coats of satin black rustoleum (no threat of rust though, obviously)

Nice!

Now just paint the roof rack rails black and you are all set.
Kinda reminds me of a military vehicle. Photoshop some trees in place of the building and voila. I like it.

I love the look.
You just need to add a star to the door like that old pic of the 2002.

Good Job!

Looks real nice man. I think I'm still going to hold out on the steelies to paint black though. However if my search for cheap steel X wheels continues to be fruitless this could definetly be an option.

Actually, that's exactly what my plans are. Rack becomes black, and the grille/plastic stuff becomes black, too.

Has the paint held up on the rack? I was actually planning on powdercoating it.

Why didn't you paint the grille?

maybe paint was an over-simplification...

the wheels were painted.

the lower parts: grill, front & rear bumper, sliderz, and plastic trim were coated with rust-oleum's road warrior product. it's an epoxy with grit, about the same stuff as herculiner.

the top parts: rack, deflector, lights, and basket were painted. we did not paint/coat the mirrors, door handles, window trim, and a few other pieces.

all in all it has held up rather well. the rack has a few scratches on top that can't be easily seen. the hi-lift jack, yakima space booster, and other metal objects have scratched the surface. of course the same objects had already scratched the rack while grey before painting so we knew it was coming.

the rust-oleum has been almost bullet-proof. only the botto side of the sliderz shows any damage. (they're sliderz, what do you expect??)
