exhaust manifold studs
I have been searching through parts magazines, and surfing online, for a good set of exhaust manifold studs, bc one of the ones on my 420a sheered off, it was the damdest thing...
back when i first got the car, i was running it a few times on a closed off road, and stopped and checked under the hood for something or another, and as I was looking...PING! i was like, wtf was that, and almost 2 seconds afterwards, i heard something hit the ground by my feet, so i looked and got ready to pick up the object, and realized what it was....so i picked it up with a pair of grips, and sure enough, it was a sheered off exhaust mani stud. Ive been searching all along for a set of these little boogers, and usually if i find soem they are not for my specific car, and usually the sets that i find for other cars are about 2-3 bucks for a set of 12 or whatever... just 5 mins ago i randomly ran across this: http://www.cimotorsports.net/motor-s...alon-420a.html now, im curious, as to why these are significantly higher priced than the ones ive been finding, or is just bc its ARP, and also, if ay of you know from experience, if these will fit my car... Thanks!

Re: exhaust manifold studs
Yes those are expensive because they are ARP. Advance auto sells exhaust studs. You dont need any that are 420a specific. Just M8x1.25 thread. They are even on the shelf

Re: exhaust manifold studs
so, its not a matter of needing sometig stronger than stock...unless i just wanna spend the extra cash on it...
maybe they ALL just need replacing...

Re: exhaust manifold studs
You shouldnt need anything stronger than stock. If they continue to break maybe you should upgrade them.

Re: exhaust manifold studs
I dont own a 420a, but I too was having problems popping exhaust manifold studs.
I upgraded to ARP stainless exhaust studs.....they work awesome! No more problems.

Re: exhaust manifold studs
I highly recommend the ARP's. I take my manifold off, what feels like once a week. Havent had any problems with my studs, they're great.

Re: exhaust manifold studs
You might want to check these guys out too. I'm not sure if they have them for the 420a, but it's worth a look.
