Brand new to the BMW world

Thinking about buying a 02' 530i series. I've read tremendous stuff about the car. The dealer has given me the option on one with 39K miles on it to buy his bumper to bumper 4 yr/100k miles warranty for $2987. One previous owner with full maintenance records. Any thoughts out there about the warranty price?

Hi rbowles:

Welcome to "The Wide World of Bimmer's", (Jk LOL) but seriously, the BMW E39 530i is a strong and good looking Bimmer! Yes, I would for sure, purchase an extended warranty plan, but not for no $2987!

I own a 2004 530i, and my "Poor" BMW dealer, (Jk LOL), was trying to hit me up for an additional $4100.00 for an 7yr/100,000 mile extended warranty plan.

I first talked with a BMW friend of mine, who advised me to do some online research on the subject first, because the price to him seemed a little too high, which I did, to make a long story shorter, After showing proof of another company with the same plan for almost 1/2 the cost, After Negotiations with my BMW dealer I ended up buying an 7yr/100,000 "Bumper to Bumper" extended warranty plan for my 2004 530i for $2,600.00, from my BMW dealership for the Fidelity Extended Warranty company, which is the vendor they deal with for all their BMW customers.

I wish you well in your negotiations for your BMW!

Sincerely,

Raymond Presley
