First off Id like to say hi and I am excited to be apart of this useful forum comunity.
I have a 96 Honda Civic DX. Some times when I turn the key to start it the engine doesnt always start instantly. Normal time to start would be about one "1 Mississippi," but there's other times when it takes 2 Mississippi's, and sometime even 2 1/2. Is this normal? Or is it some kind of warning sign? Please Please let me know what I should do. xxx MacabrE xxx |

that's really no big deal.... could be anything from a particularly cold morning/engine... or slightly lower battery charge... no big deal as long as it Does start and run fine.

Could this also premote a potincial problem? |

Re: 96 Honda Civc DX start porblem.
well with a system pounding, u r lowering the amount of charge that is going back onto the battery, so if u r pounding away for say 30min right up until u turn off the car, the battery duzn't necessarily have a FULL charge and so it will take a little bit more out of it when u go to start it up. try getting a more powerful alternator, or a "cap" for u'r system. the cap will store a charge for when the amp needs a large surge, and it will come out of the cap instead of the battery. this way u will be able to provide a better charge to the battery. a stronger alternator will just produce a larger amperage, and that will help supply a charge and power to the amp.
