GT4 Competition: Week 1
First of, Mods I know there's GT forum already, but I decided to post this here because I know this part of the forum is visited more frequently. Feel free to move this to the appropriate forum. With that said, here's the rules and layout for the new competition, Week 1!!
This week is going offer up a new idea, 2 events run on 2 different courses. The rules will apply the same for both tracks with the exception of one BIG aspect. Tire choice. I'm aiming to have an Initial D type racing for one track, grip driving for the other. Each competitor can enter times for both events as long as the cars and its tires meet the rules. Speaking of which, here's this week's specifications. -Only RWD cars may be used. This includes, FR, MR, and RR. (4WD cars with VDC will not be allowed. -No price limit to buy and modify cars -No horsepower limit -To keep anyone from gaining a big advantage, all competing cars must have their power-to-weight ratios entered as they appear in the form they are to entered in. No car may have a better power-to-weight ratio than 2.700. (The lower the number for the PTWR the better.) -The whole name of the car as well as every modification done to it must be submitted along with the time. -No Nitrous. -ALL DRIVING AIDS MUST BE TURNED OFF. -Picture proof of best time as well as the tuning screen showing all modifications is HIGHLY recommended, however it isn't necessary. -Drift Shootout: This event is held on Trial Mountain. Same rules apply car wise except you MUST use N3 Road tires. You may submit times with multiple cars, but only your best time for each car. -Grippin' the Ground: This event will be held on the Infineon Raceway-Sports Car Course. Same rules as above, but you MUST use R3 Medium slicks. Not sure if I'm forgetting anything, let me know if I am. With that said, entered timeslips should come like this: Name of the car Track/Time Modifications power-to-weight ratio Photo Proof (if provided) Lets get to work!

Re: GT4 Competition: Week 1
Christ, I must be drifting way to much. Good times so far.
L-Spec, hope you don't mind if I "borrow" your settings. Hell I didn't think someone would actually get exactly 2.700, lol.

Quote:
. I still found it fairly hard to get sideways with N3 tires though, I just understeered everywhere. I tried my bloody hardest to shift the weight correctly to initiate a drift, but failed most of the time, the tires simply can't handle the speeds I go. On Infineon, on the other hand, I found drifting to be easier, because I could actually steer lol.

Re: GT4 Competition: Week 1
Yea I'm probally going to just take the general idea from your parts and tune it to my liking. I was linking up that whole course too with my underpowered FD.
Edit: Just remember an important rule. All driving aids must be turned off.

Re: GT4 Competition: Week 1
My BMW was at 2.751 or something but I needed to add 100 ballast weight to keep the rear tires in check! I just ended up doing grip driving on those crap tires. I suck at drift, just spin everytime lol
Which reminds me, I probably could have taken it out for Infineon with the slicks...will do that this afternoon

Re: GT4 Competition: Week 1
So... where are all those people who said they'd participate
I just wish this thread could have at least stayed on O/T for a little while, it's not like it would have become a 100 page discussion. It could have been locked after the event was over and what not. I think I'm going to sig this thread in hopes of a little more exposure.
