I have a 98 also, and the person I bought it from had one installed where the above console is right behind the front seats, above. they have a kit you can replace that one with the dvd screen. I cannot remember what brand it is, but I am having a problem with getting a remote for mine. The guy I bought it from lost the remote, and didnt tell me I needed it to play a movie. good luck... I think mine is an apex.

The company that made mine, dosent allow you to purchase it. You have to go through a dealer. And of course they are giving me the run around. Probably will just have to replace the dvd player. the cost of the remote is $30.00. But cannot get any one to order one for me. good luck on yours, it sure helps out with the kids. Also mine has an antenna on it so it can pick up local channels, that is nice too.

we have an '04. Just purchased it. We got a dvd system put in from Circuit City. They had a deal going. our dvd player is called "liquid crystal" the kids love it, and it plays everything we put in it (copies and what not). it plays MP3, and we can hook up the XBOX to it as well. comes with 2 wireless head phones OR they can rig it to play thru the stereo system. all that for $450 installed, and they didnt even have to cut the headliner. it mouted perfectly where the dome light was.

this dvd system has dome light built in it, and we didnt loose that funtion.

also our dvd player itself is mounted under the bucket seat thats behind the driver.

like yahoos - we were upset that we had to point the remote at the dvd player (under the seat) to get it to work, and it seldom did at that. upon further investigation, that have a sensor mounted over the "eye" of the dvd player that goes to the monitor display, so all we needed to do was point the remote at the monitor - LOL - this is all new to us
