I took my 318 is auto to a local garage for a service but they could not cancel the service light.
Is there a sequence which will do this. I know other manufacturers enable cancelation by a series of actions like using the egnition key co-ordinated with the trip reset button. Does anyone know if this is so with BMWs. Gary Last edited by garymyron; 01-10-2005 at 11:13 AM. |

Re: Turn the Service light off
as far as i know all faults can be reset with a OBD tool cheap if 1994 or below $130 and above if newer

Service light
Gary, it is very easy to reset, using a simple piece of wire and the procedure that was listed in the 2nd posting to your question. But you must make sure no other lights are on- your service light came on for a reason, it could just be because of an oil change interval, but it could also be because of something like your coolant level was low. My car had a bad coolant level sensor, so the coolant light was on- I had to clear that first, then perform the reset procedure. Good luck.
