Clunking noise

Every now and then when i hit a bump or go over a speed bump there seems to be a clunking noise under my feet. I dont know if its something to do with the suspension or if there is something loose. Is there anything that could be causing this other then suspension parts.

Re: Clunking noise

Good question. I have a similar issue - can't really tell where it's coming from. Could be almost anything - like a loose fender liner, brake line, strut mount......who the hell knows. The car doesn't act bad, except it's really stiff riding. But I am used to driving an Oldsmobile sedan, quite different - softer and quieter than a sporty hatch like the RSX.

Re: Clunking noise

No. Been so freaking busy at work lately and nearest dealer is 50 miles away.......which reminds me, I should call the local Honda dealer and see if they will/can do warranty work on Acura.

I live in a province without an Acura dealer and the Honda dealer does almost all my warrenty work. As long as its not major engine work.

Re: Clunking noise

Cool! I just emailed the Honda dealer........waiting to see what they say. When I was shopping for this car, I was considering purchasing one from a Honda dealer near Detroit......they told me that warranty work had to be performed by Acura dealer......but I figured I would get three different stories from three different people!!

Smile

I think the service manager at the Honda here and the service manager off island at the acura dealer have a good trusting relationship. They know each other and trust that the work will be done properly. Other then that i dont know if there are any other reasons why they do my warrenty work at the honda dealership here. Good thing though, it would suck to have to travel long distances to get every little thing worked on.

I am not sure on the kms but its about a two hr drive. Not to bad. The only thing i ever had to go there for was the transmission fix. Got the tsb done in moncton New Brunswick. Thats where the dealer is. I told him the problem over the phone and he said to come on over and they would replace the syncros with out even driving it themselves. I was quite pleased with the service.

I've noticed there aren't too many honda, or import dealerships out east...TypeS, you said you are 2 hours from Moncton out of province...so you either live in Nova Scotia, or Quebec...if its NS, how far from Halifax?

That hurts man, did you forget about little old Prince Edward Island. Its only two hours away when you take the Fixed link. Thats a bridge by the way, one of the largest in the world. I think its roughly 10 to 12 kms long.

Dag im stupid I should have just looked up ur profile...and Im not so stupid that I wouldn't know about the bridge...I just figured you would be from St John, because ppl from PEI wouldn't really be running for the acura dealership. You should see Halifax, where everybody owns a Ford Explorer, and all the dealerships are owned by one guy.

I figured you new about the bridge, i was just teasing ya. I think there are only a handful of Rsx's here on the island. I dedcided to go the extra distance for the car because i knew it would be some what different from the rest of the cars here on the island. Its good to be different!
