Talking Subtlety is not my middle name; Mitsubishi EVO 7 - Montecarlo - Weathered badly :)

Here it finally is, the mitsi I started about a year and a half ago, that was kinda crappy after a clearcoat over decals accident.

I tried recovering it as good or as bad as I could, and here is the result.

I used it as a trial exercise for my new badger badger badger airbrush, with nice results, albeit not too subtle weathering.

It's mostly OOB, but has wirings, seatbelts (custommade) and some dirt added to it.

One for the display cabinet!

oh, and it just needs new antennae made from fishing wire that will be added next week.

that's about it!

Feel free to comment, please!

Picses !

next up is a quick fix and weathering of an almost done focus, which will be also a salvage and exercise for weathering car.

stay tuned for more soon!

Olivier

Hi,

who is the kit manufacterer??

You should bring some dirt to the windscreen and lower part of the side windows.

WOW!...Monte Carlo must be one dirty place. Looks like the coal dirt up in the PA mountains. Keep up the great work!

Looks awesome. I really like the look of weathered rally cars. The grime is very convincing.

The rear wheels look a bit too clean though compared to the pic.

Wow, that looks awesome. I'd only suggest that the rally numbers on the side should be "cleaned", they tend to clean them before every stage, as its a backup for timing (AFAIK they have electronic timing too, but if anything goes wrong the timing officials fall back on manual timing and sighting numbers).

Looks good from where I'm standing. What did you use for the weathering job?

Excellent weathering, you've made the dirty areas look very realistic - I'd love to know your general technique.
