Displacement vs. Turbo(z28 vs. GSX)

Tonight I ended up racing an Eclipse GSX. He made a left onto the parkway ahead of me, and all I could see was that it was an Eclipse with an aftermarket wing and exhaust. The road we were on(The Parkway), is two lanes, and very straight for very long. We come up to a red light with him in front of me. I threw on my high beams to get a better look at his car notice it says gsx. He takes off on green with me right behind him. We're cruising at about 45 - 50 for a while before I decide to get next to him. I switch lanes and pull up behind him. I'm currently in fourth gear and we just cruise that way(with me right next to him) for a little ways. I hear his turbo cut off and his BOV hiss. I'm guessing he had just downshifted. I decide to go ahead and downshift to prepare myself. As soon as I push the clutch in and start to shift down into third, he takes off! I quickly finish my shift and get on the gas. He's about a half a car - three quarters of a car ahead when I hit it. By the end of third gear he's about a half a car back, and through fourth he drops to about 2 cars. I get about halfway through fifth, going about 110 - 115 with him about 3 or 4 back. I then shut it down, and slow back down to the limit. I end up behind him once again a little later on b/c of traffic, and eventually give him a wave(which he returned) when he gets over to make a left. All in all, a good fun race!

Nice clean race. One of the best told around here and with all the neccesary detail.

no bollocks...does that mean "no bashing"? If that's what you mean, don't worry, I rarely do, lol. I'm a former importer myself, owner of a Mazda Mx-6 GT Turbo, and 95 Civic too Anyways, I wouldn't say he had TOOO awfully much done. Saw a front mount IC, and the exhaust, I'm guessing it was a stock turbo and didn't have a boost controller, so nothing too major.

I smoke non-turbo DSM cars, my friends GST beat my other friends mildly modified '94 Z28 at the track. My friend's GST is modified, run's 13.7ish and the Z28 is still high 13's low 14's (automatic). They're both faster than me for now.
