Automatic filter replacement / Flushing?

Has anybody here changed the filter in their automatics trans? How hard is it to change this filter? I have changes filters on GM auto trannies, 700r4, 350, etc. Has anybody flushed out all the fluid in the auto trannies before? Does the tranny fluid run through the bottom or side of the radiator to help warm it in the winter and cool it in the summer? I know that is what they do on GM trannies.

Some where I read that you have to remove the transmission and diassemble it. I haven't gotten a manual for car yet. So I am not sure.

Re: Re: Automatic filter replacement?

i did mine about 1k ago. pulled the dip stick out, unscrewed the drain plug, let her flow. i checked out the manual, and saw nothing about a filter. i believe honda has spared us, and left it completely out. also, i'm pretty certain that the tranny fluid doesn't leave the tranny. however, i am not 100% on the lack of a filter and the absence of an oil cooler/warmer, but pretty sure.

Manual transmissions don't have any external cooling.

Re: Automatic filter replacement?

There is a lot more friction in an auto trans which = more heat
