spark plug wires

Can anyone tell me what the resistance should be on the spark plug wires for a 94 3.2l Mine are all between 5000-10000 ohms but the haynes manual I got said they should be less than thirty thousand. So i was wondering if mine are alittle low because the vehicle does not idle well at all, and i have changed plugs had timing, cat and fuel systems checked and all are fine. Also I have replaced the ignition module under the three coils. It runs much beter than beffore when it seemed to flood itself out, but it still does not idle properly. Also i was wondering if the egr valve can cause this. mine does seem to move under light pressure, but i was wondering if it still may be leaking and casueing a rough idle. Thank you

What brand of spark plugs are you running? The 1993-1997 3.2L does best on NGK or denso. I wouldn't worry too much about resistance readings on the spark plug wires. If they look good, are not real old & don't give off a light show on a damp rainy night, they are fine. Rough idle could be a bad MAF or MAP sensor, bad idle air control valve, or like you say, EGR stuck open slightly. EGR issues are rare with the 1993-1997 3.2L.
G/luck

Check the cheap/easy stuff first and check for vacuum leaks esp. the PCV hose and while you're there check the PCV valve too. The PCV valve should rattle when you take it out. If it doesn't, replace it. Sometimes you can cure a loose vacuum hose by snipping off the very end to get an unstretched section to seal up.
