ok, lets say im broke, and right now i have one end of the speaker wire (im not sure if its pos or neg) taped to one of the rca cables, and it works just fine, will that hurt the amp? I could care less about the sub, its old, and free, and i want to keep the amp a long time.

ill get one this summer, i dont have a job right now, and i get gas money by doing things around the house for my mom. otherwise im broke as a joke.

hmmm.... Broke does not equal good stereo. better keep the gains on the amp low (like all the way down) and the volume down on the HU....
PS They are $17 at walmart, free for me because i have the 5 finger discount  j/k
