abs inop

today (3-9-05) i was in my 98 firebird stopping to get in my driveway when the front brakes made a grinding sound, slipped and then stopped. the abs inop light came on for a second and then went off. what could be wrong?

take the front wheels off and look at the pads first how bad r they? then look at the wheel speed sensor is it covered in metal shaveings if it is clean it with brake clean if the pads a bad change them and get the rotors cut or get new rotors if there bad

usually bad brakes, or a cracked rotor will trigger the abs light. you'll need to take the front wheels of and check it out.
