CRXSi stock eng...biggest hp gains 4 price

I was wondering what mods would give the CRX Si stock engine the most gains in hp or torque for the lowest price, any input or advice is appreciated

well they say ...NOS... is the most bang for the buck . but that dosent mean its safe tell us more about the car so we can help more. and whats the max you are willing to spend? there is a big diff. in 200 bills and 2000 bills so need more info to help. 200 = intake ..............2000 = turbo. so tell us more

Nos is a company, yes nitrous is the best bang for the buck but its also dangerous if you dont know what youre doing. Intake and exhaust should be the first performance stuff you do, unless you want a swap first. Ill have my swap when the money and time comes.

Re: CRXSi stock eng...biggest hp gains 4 price

i could get a couple grand over time or i could spend it over that time with smaller mods. Friends tell me nitrous frys the sh!t outta your engine so i dont think i wanna mess with that haha. right now i got my muffler bolted onto the pipe right by the rear axle and i just bought it, how much paper would it set me back for the whole cat-back system and what would be the hp gain from it?

You don't "gain" any thing from an intake, exhaust, or header. It's more like freeing up power that is already there.

Nitrous is the best bang for the buck if it's not abused. Know what it is & how it works. There are many books on it and Honda performance in general. $20.00 on a book could save you thousands down the road.

how many miles are on the engine? does it burn oil? What are your future goals for the car? Then we'll give you a plan

These are words of wisdom...

Free up the d16 with I/H/E first. If you got the dough, go DC Sports Ceramic Coated 4-2-1 Header and full stainless DC Sports cat-back or Thermal Research & Development cat-back.

If you have money left over, your d16 would love a stage 1 or 2 Exedy Clutch and a lightweight ACT or similar brand flywheel (just make sure all your bearings and syncros are in good shape in your tranny).

And lastly, lightweight pulleys. I have them and ever since I got my lightweight flywheel having the equal light weight on both sides of the crank seems like the rpms climb very very quickly.

Enjoy.

intake and exhaust hardly does anything to a stock civic. Do a cheap ghetto turbo setup and run 5-6psi.

Re: CRXSi stock eng...biggest hp gains 4 price

the engine has around 185,000 kms on it, im not sure what that is in miles. It burns a little oil but nothing over the top. I want it to be a reliable daily driver with some extra power i can have fun with and surprise those those goofs who roll up and think nothing of a honda. I think im gonna stick with the stock a6 engine and do what i can with that...now i just need a plan for it..thats what im lookin to you guys for

Re: CRXSi stock eng...biggest hp gains 4 price

i have the stock motor a6 in my rex too. just to give you a lil insight about what to do.....outa 5 runs i averaged 15.6 with .....

eibach coilovers, short shifter, AEM CAI, 2 1/4 axle back piping with muffler, teg ls rims, 195/50/15 tires, NGK 8mm wires, bosch plat plugs, and a retarded dist.

now i got deals on most of that and i think i only put $500 into it. seeing how you have 185000 km which is around 115000mi (converted) i would stock to suspension, and bolt ons to increase air flow. if you have good traction with only a little bit of hp increase than you can use it better than having the stock suspesion. a lot of people overlook suspension as being a vital part of performance. it makes a world of a difference. although if you wana wait turbo might be the best thing for you car. you have a strong enough motor that you could handle the boost and if it was to much for you, you could always turn down the boost for a more comfortable ride.

Really that's not to shabby a time at all for what you spent. Really makes me wonder what my car would run 1/4 wise with multi-point fuel injection. Low 15's would make me happy.
