good evening, new owner of a 1987 325e

Just got this car and there is a kinda roar in the back. Friend said it is the wheel bearings. I would like to ask if there are any tips on fixing this problem. Would like to make it as hassle free as possible. Any special tools needed? Thanks in advance for any help.
