rear end problem

ok.at high rpms theres a loud noise thats coming from the rear end i think it might be the u joint but some people are saying it the bearings and seals anybody have any ideas

all i can say is it a loud whining nose at high rpms

ok thanks for the help the reason i thought it was the u joint was because when i installed the extened drive and and the new u the bearing caps fell off and all the needle bearings fell out but i installed it anyway just call me a window licker

What in the name of God were you thinking?

U-Joints and drive lines are nothing to fool around with. Haven't you ever seen a vehicle on the side of the road with the drive shaft laying in the road behind it? If you loose that drive line at a high speed they have been known to come up through the floor boards.

Replace the U-Joint and do it right or take it someone that knows what they're doing.

Heh, I used to own a 72 Mercury Montego... .The front u-joint went on I-95 in Lawrenceville NJ... Candycaned itself into the ground... wracked my head on steering wheel...

I agree, this guy needs to wake the hell up.

The needle bearings go out and you just keep on installing it?

Pretty stupid in my mind.

its only been in the mud since the problem has started the rest of the time its been trailered so take it easy
