b16a vs b18c
b16a vs b18c
I am looking to swap engines out this winter or at least by next summer I was wondering which of these engines will be the least hassle to put in/find parts for etc. I'm looking to run at least 12's all-motor. !!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy I GOT a ReX!!!!!!! I have always dreamed of getting one and NOW ITS mine (sry for the flame) |

b16 would be the easiest, and I believe has the most aftermarket support. I don't know much about the b18, but i know it's more difficult to swap and costs more.

Well b18c is my favorite ...more torque
The only thing about the b18c is that it comes with a hydraulic tranny. U can use it but you have to get the cable to hydro conversion on ur car. OR u can use a b16 cable tranny with the GSR longblock. You have to convert your obd sensors also. Like obd0 to obd1. Its the same drop in as the b16. You need the mounts , linkage, wire harness, integra axles blah blah blah ...u get wat i'm sayin The b16 is cheaper and i think i would go with that if money is the issue...cuase b18 is expensive man..if u got the money then hey go for it. |

I think I will go with the b16, how hard do you think it will be to get 12's out of it ALL motor? I am willing to gut the interior

I don't think it would be hard to get 12's out of a CRX with a b16, I've heard most people get low 14's high 13's with that swap. Probably I/H/E, Cams, Pistons, Port and Polish, and a modded ECU could get you running 12's.

intake=- like a cold air intake or ram intake
headers=- head-->catalytic converter exhaust=- gives you that nice rumble sound or if your a ricer the 100 midgets in the back farting

B18 plus turbo can = 12s.
Given the options I'd do the B18 just for the extra capacity/torque. |

after researching some it seems the b18 is a lot more expensive and will be harder todo. The b16 seems to have better aftermarket support too. I might eventually get turbo but for now I like the respect of "all-motor". I plan on taking the interior out (how much will this save?) And getting a CF hood for weight.
I was also wondering about the wiring....will I need a special harness for it? thanX guys |
