1998 Gol (manufactured in Brazil)

I have a 1998 Gol manufactured in Brazil, synchronic 5 gears and I have a problem with the gear lever, it is loose. I can change the gears and the car accepts them and they do not slip out but the lever is loose so sometimes it is not easy to find the gears.

Please help me if you have an idea what could be the problem. Thanks.

On the front topside of the transmission look at the shifter bushings. Have someone move the leve & see where the play is.
