88 Trans An GTA rear brakes

Hi, help needed! I live in Northern Ireland and have a problem with the rear brakes on my Trans Am. I have re-built the calipers/new pads/new hand brake cables etc. but still have 2 problems. 1. When the car is on the lift and in drive the wheels still revolve when the foot brake is fully applied. Surely they should be stopped completely? 2. The hand brake is very poor and will not hold the car completely on a hill. Any suggestions to improve it? If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate them.
Many Thanks Tony

Hmm...GTA's have rear discs so I really dont know, but I'd start checking lines and stuff, maybe proportioning. Hand brake's do wear out over time though, I'm sure somebody will be able to help you much more than I have, just give it a few days. AF is a great place.

Edit: I guess you did say you put new cables in for the hand brake, I still dont know then, if the hand brake isn't working, and fluid brakes not working then It's something in the brakes itself isn't it? Maybe your car just has too much torque at idle for your car's brakes to stop the wheels.
