Unhappy Need some help Picking the right Sub's

times new roman 7 hello i'm kinda new with this whole car audio thing. and i'm not to sure how to tell what subwoofer is better.i like rap/hip-hop so0o i need a sub that can catch the low drops.but i also like to play some rock so0o the subwoofer is gotta sound good. i have the JL Audio 1000/1 on some kicker crv15's but they didn't last to long on the Jl audio..so0o i need some new somes. i was looking at the JL Audio 12w6v2 and also looking at the MTX 8500 1244 and if i get one of these brand i'm gonna get 3 12 cuz the system i get has gotta be louder then my 2 15's and i think 3 12's should beat that..i just need some help picking the right one. here is the JL site if you wanna look at the features http://www.jlaudio.com/subwoofers/12w6v2.html
and here is the MTX site if you wanna check out its features http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products...hunder8500.cfm
and if you have a better subwoofer in mind please do tell. thank you for your time.

2 15's have more cone are then three 12's. What's your budget and how much space do you have to work with (what kinda vehicle)?

Re: Need some help Picking the right Sub's

did you like your CVRs? were they ported or sealed? did you need more sound quality? those two subs you have listed are pretty different. the W6s are geared more toward SQ and the MTXs are generally SPL woofers. if you liked the VRs, the the MTXs are probably more comparable. not recommending anything to you im just asking if you need more sound quality than you had before.

also, not sure if youre aware but there are a ton of companies that you might not have heard of that offer some kickass woofers at pretty good prices, so if these guys recommend somethin for you and you havent heard of the company dont freak out, odds are its better than you think.

Re: Need some help Picking the right Sub's

Well, what is your main goal?
Sound Quality (SQ)
Loud (SPL)
Or a mix of both, what do you like... I prefer around 60/40 SPL/SQ

Also, what is your budget?!?!?!

well right now i'm pimping out my mom's car which is a toyota 4runner which has a pretty good amount of space but later on i'm gonna get a honda cr-x or civic hatch but i'll take out the backseat to make sure i got enough space. for what i buy now. and the money thing doesn't really matter..i'll work to get it the best if i have to. also i'm looking at 4 12w3's jl audio so0o through that into the mix

my CRV's were in a sealed box and they hit hard as hell but when i put i'm a put on like rock or something a little more softer then say like a lil jon album it would bump as much so i guess i want the best or both worlds..yes to SQ and yes to SPL but whatever i get it has to bump harder then my 2 15's cause i'm use to them and the bass needs to be louder.

i'm looking for the best of both worlds..the 60/40 sounds good..just as long as its louder then my 2 15's...the budget doesn't really matter i mean something that i don't have to work the rest of my life to get,but i guess around $1000 would be nice..

Re: Need some help Picking the right Sub's

Well, I'd look at:
www.incriminatoraudio.com (2 DP's, call for direct pricing)
www.soundsplinter.com (2 RL-p's)
www.reaudio.com (SX, call for direct pricing)
