single ported or twin sealed

I am building a box into my spare tire space, with how much trunk space I want to take up I have from 2.0 - 2.5 cubic feet. I have a ALUM 12Q (AudioBahn) and am planning to get a 8000T amp. If you were me would you do.

a. Split the box and make it 2 sealed boxes 1 -1.25 cubics each
(install one now and other in a month or two.)

or

b. make one large 2.0 - 2.5 vented box.
(upgrade components in a month or two)

I am looking for something that can knock the breath out of me.

this is in my 93 240sx HB

and since it is a HB should I still aim it backward and up, or toward me?

thanks

I know Audiobahn is not great but I spend to much on engine and stuff to spend a grand on audio. so basically I will be putting in a grand or so into my rear system and I'm not sure about my fronts/HU

Re: single ported or twin sealed

for a grand on sub stage you can get a HELL of alot better than audiobahn
xxx15 and 2 Hifonics BX1800's.....
sounddomain the amps are like 250-300 but ebay it and yo ucan get them for around 200 easy. xxx15 you can expect to pay 400-450.
i odnt have experence with the alums but the xxx15 should swap any audiobahn in SQ and it will beat it by a decent margin in SPL when compared with mid level audiobahn 12's if set up right. you can also go with a brhama and eD Nine.1 or ascendant avalanche 15 or even (if you really want to bump but sacrifice SQ but still sound about as good or better then audiobahn) an MT with a copule BX1800D's....

Re: single ported or twin sealed

for a grand get 2 SE 15's from RE and a nine.1 from ED. Spend the rest on a box and a yellow top and it will definately take the breath out of you.

Re: single ported or twin sealed

Sounds like a plan I have a friend who will sell me his (2) 12" Rockford Fosgates for $150 dont know which ones they are. Are they any good? I will prolly only spend a grand on my entire system. i will spend it on tires and other stuff.

Re: single ported or twin sealed

I decided to go with a twin sealed setup with 1.5 ft. Might go with a 3ft sealed if My divider makes it look like ass.
