Accident, Blew Out Engine on 2000 Durango

Short version: I have a 2000 Durango, 96000 miles, was in front end accident at other driver's fault. Engine light came on, think overheated too. Insurance Co replaced radiator & pump, fan, etc. Engine ticking and light still on, won't idle, tach jumping up and down, exhaust fumes, etc. Now Insurance Co says hole in engine, due to poor maintenance. Have always received timely maintenance. Never any prior problems, ran like new. Does anybody know of any engine defects or recalls on 2000's? Any advise? please.
