I have a 1988 4.3l chev that will not fire , I've replaced the timing chain, gears , cap and rotor . Have spark and fuel but the engine will not fire just turns over . Any suggestions would be a great help .Also spark is weak out of spark plug , hot fr. coil though .

If you changed the timing chain you may be 180 degrees off on the timing. To check hit TDC (top dead center). To do so point the crevice on the damper pulley to the 0 degree mark and see if the rotor is pointed to the #1 cylinder spark wire. If it is pointing to the #6 you have to lift the distributor about 3 inches and turn the roter like a door knob in the opposite direction (or 180 degrees).
Just one thing to check. |
