01 Jetta Auto Transmission
Hi,
Here Is The ? Can Anyone Tell Me Please Where Is The Auto-Transmission Dip Stick On A 2001 jetta 4cyl Turbo? Have Looked All Around The Engine & Transmission. Also Does It Take A Special Fluid? Thanks For Any Help Given. |

There isn't one, it's "sealed for life". However I'd reccommend having it changed at least every 60K. There is a small plug in the bottom of the pan that looks like a drain, but actually has a small tube that extends upward & is used to set the level. A little fluid will always be in the tube when you pull the plug, but if fluid continues to run out it's overfilled. There is a fill pipe w/plug at the front of the trans. All this checking should be done using a scanner to ensure the trans is at the proper operating temp. It also takes a very special fluid, not the normal ATF found at parts stores.
