hud question

ok i have hud in my car now apparently the previous owner didnt know that or something cause it has a normal windshield in it. now my question is can i just buy the little sticker that is normally between the two layers of glass in a hud windshield and if so where or will i just have to replace the whole thing ..... i have heard yes and no but no one i have talked to knows for sure any help is appreciated

I have the HUD and its not to do with your mormal windshield its the button that changes the MPH to KMH just push it in and the thing in the top left of your dash displays it up there? Not some crazy ass sticker in your windsheild??!?!

HUD= Heads Up Display, on the 1993 models only.

The previous owner of my car( my older brother) cracked the window on his car when he had it and he just went to Nissan and got it there. And why the previous owner of your car would get the regular window I dont know. Cuz turns out that the regular window cost more than the HUD window. I dont understand it either.

Edit: Correction:HUD is Optional on the 89 Coupe Xe and 90 Coupe XE, and standard on the 91-93 Coupe SE.

The HUD is the little square thing on my windowshield in my sig. You could kinda see it with the big ass pic. of my car, that I need to resize.

And no its not just a sticker that you can just place on the window, however if you wanna get ghetto, Im sure if you just put a sticker it actually would work.

So all KADE coupes have a digital dash? How gay is that....can you just yank that shit out and put normal analog gauges in?

yea u can just look for the analog one and yank the digital one out (i mean take it out by taking the srews out and stuff like that dont yank it thats not good) lol

But then you have the problem having to get a new dash cuz the dash on my 93, which has the hud, is molded to account for the HUD, so it would look awkward if you did the analog display. But if you guys find a solution let me know cuz I havent been able to find the analog display.

I dont have that yellow spot like you do? I mean...is that the "sticker" because mine doesnt have that? But the HUD works...

Yeah its the "sticker". Its the OEM windshield that came with the car. and its not like a bright yellow it just looks yellow from the pic its more of a shade of yellow, I guess that helps the green display from the HUD look more visible.

ok the sticker has nothing to do with your digital gauge cluster..... it only works with the hud(head up display) i.e with is when your speed and rpm is displayed on your windshield i was only asking if i needed the sticker or not to get it to work or if it will work without the sticker and my hud just isnt working???? and if i can just buy the sticker or do i have to replace the windshield?????

To check if your HUD works, put your hand over it, and second, HUD cars have digital display.

The HUD displays RPM? Mines broken then...my 91 only shows the Speed...I want a 4 digit number on there that would be awesome

ummm ok so you no one has answered my question does any one know anything about 240SX this is my 3rd its not like im a newbie i just wanna know if i can get the sticker or if i have to buy ther whole windshield???? thats all i wanna know im not trying to be a bitch i just wanna know if anyone knows where i can buy it?????

Um Im not sure if you can just buy the sticker. I think that its actually inside the windshield(I never actually felt if its just a sticker) but my bro had to replace the whole windshield when the car was his so I think that its not just a sticker, and by the way he went to Nissan to get a replacement. Hope that helps sidewayz. Im at work right now but when I get off I'll check if its just a sticker or not and post later tonight.

P.S. only the mph, or km/h, is displayed in the HUD not RPM.
