Question Limited Slip questions

Hey,

I was thinking bout replacing the rear end in my 99, 2WD 4.3 blazer. I'm sick of always getting stuck in the Snow/ Ice. What kinda parts should I get to get the most bang for my buck. I was looking around here and the general consenseous is that posi isn't the way to go for everyday use. I'm just starting out with improvements for my ride. The most I got is a K&N air filter in the stock air box. So yeah Help is greatly needed

Re: Limited Slip questions

You can replace the rear end with a posi and there is a thread recently telling you how to do it.

What about putting a locker in there?? Would that be something that I could do??? Pretty much, what's the cheapest I can do to get posi going?? Without pulling a "Joe Bob grab the welder"?

No, not really. If that's the way someone wants do things, all the power to'em. Although, these are the same people that think Duct tape is the next best thing to moonshine and had friends who's last words were " Hey Ya'll check this Out!!!!"

Any reason why you are posting in the Blazer section with a BMW concern?

Also, post spam advertisements in your posts again and you will be removed permanently.

Cool 2WD Blaze w/ ZR2 rear ???

Hey Guys,

I talked to a couple of people and the only way I can get a locking diff on what I got right now is to throw a clutch style locker in there and from what I got on the net those suck. I can't throw a mechanical locker in there cause I got a 7 5/8 rear and they "the guys at the off road shop" said it's not do able.

Now the idea going right now is to swap the rear end with a ZR2 rear 8 1/2 w/ the 3:73 rear and POOF. Question is has anyone done this or is it at all possible without having to transform my truck into friggin Optimus Prime. I know that the ZR2 rear is wider which would look cool with the those fender flares. It's a 2WD so what effect will this have all around???

Re: Limited Slip questions

If you're really don't want to get stuck in snow then it makes more sense to sell the 2wd and buy a 4wd.

kid, quit trippen, he gave you the right answer, dont be a dick about it, your two choices are, 1 swap the rear end out with one that is already a posi, or buy a 4x4, just because the right answer isnt what you alwase want to hear, doesnt make it wrong

Hey I ain't trying to be a dick but, Think about it, why would I be asking questions about swaping my rear end if I had the means to get a 4WD truck???

I didn't join this forum to get options. I joined to get answers to my question. I never asked "Hey guys you think I should swap my rear end out or get a 4X4?? Straight up

If you wanna play Tic for Tac Fine we can go and do that on IM, but here.. I much rather keep it Q&A and relative to the question. Keep the 2 cents in your pocket and I'll more than gladly do the same.
