wiper short or loose wire-Help!
I have a loose wire or short in somewhere-truck has a intermittent wiper/cruise on multi switch. It will just stop sometimes and or slow down. Dealer says wiper combo switch and all is bad, not motor.
Anybody had this problem? Switch and all incl hazard switch is 300 plus labor, too much for me right now any other suggestions? (98 model tilt column, cruise/intermittent on switch, 4cyl manual trans) |

i have a 94 gmc sonoma my wipers done the same thing
there is an open recall on some of the newer s10(94 up) for this switch, but if your truck has a rebuilt title than they want stand behind it. i would get in touch with the local chevorlet dealer and ask them if your truck is one of the recalls |

Wiper fixer
I have a 1994 S-10 and the wipers on it were bad. I fixed them myself by replacing the chip that plugs in up by the wiper motor. This part is inexpensive and is alot cheaper than 300. This shopuld cure the intermitance and the stoppage of the blades. Let me know how this is going to work out. Also check the recalll on this part. The recall was for certain vin numbers but I'm not sure what they are. Hope it works for you.

Re: wiper short or loose wire-Help!
The campaign your refering to is #98043 & it pertains to '94-'96 C/K series & '95-'96 S/T trucks.
Sorry, looks like your not involved. By what your describing I'd say the same, it's the delay module. It's under the black cover, held by the 3 torx screws on the motor. I paid $35.00 for the last one I baught, they retail at $55.00 or so. |

I had the same problem with my wipers working whenever they wanted. The delay module (under the hood and connected to the wiper motor) had some dirty contacts. I stupidly bought a new delay module, and when I went to replace it saw that I could probably have just cleaned the contacts and saved myself $50. But I know that it was not a problem with the switch inside the cab, because now it works perfectly.

Re: wiper short or loose wire-Help!
I had the same problem a couple years back. I changed the wiper motor, worked ever since.
