6.5L diesel chevy fuel pump

Where can I get info on how to replace the fuel pump on a 1996 Chevy C3500 pickup with a 6.5L diesel? Any help would be much appreciated.
I've never worked on a diesel before and I think $2300 to replace it is absolute robbery, considering I found a pump for $90

Re: 6.5L diesel chevy fuel pump

Buy a repair manual for your truck. Even if you only use it once, it is well worth it. I believe most diesels have a low pressure fuel pump in the tank that delivers fuel to a high pressure pump under the hood. Make sure you have the right pump (assuming there are two, I'm not absolutely sure there are two)
