87Si idel way to high

i've recently replaced the head gaskit in my 87 crx Si and i can not control the idel. its running at about 5k. and nothing i do will bring it down. clamping vacume hoses and so on. i am going crazy with this thing. thanks

If you've already tried the idle adjustment screw then it has to be a vacuum leak.

Also, there is one hose that is connected directly under the intake manifold plenum that is extremely hard to attach and incredibly easy to forget.

Is the ECU displaying a code?

Another thing to think of is to replace the gasket or whatever its called that houses the idle adjustment screw because the spring will wear and when the little cone inside goes to compress against the spring for a nice seat, the spring could be giving when it does this causing either higher idle or idle seek causing in high idle...
