2001 Grand Am GT Keyless remote Programming help

Looked all over for programming instructions on how to do it for my 2001 Grand Am GT.. but no luck.

So, anyone happen to know -if- you can do it yourself, or do you need to bring it to a dealer?

Re: 2001 Grand Am GT Keyless remote Programming help

If you look at the important message at the top of the main grand am forum screen you will see that for that year you need to have a GM scan tool to program them. So the dealer would have to do it for you. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

2001 Grand Am

If you have an additional remote, make sure you take both with you to the dealer. I don't know the specific reason why, but when I had the same problem they needed to re-program both. -- RuintTX

Just wanted to say "Thanks" to all of you that sent repies to my post..My car is up and running now after $700.00 worth of work at the dealership..My BCM had shorted out because of a water leak in dash and also had to have the ignition switch replaced also. But, I am driving again and that is what really counts, I guess..Thanks and good luck to you all.......Alicia
