Ignition Coil
hey fellow jeepers, I already have the answer to my own question, I just want to get some other possibilities before buying a new Ignition coil.
OK Jeep stalled a lil bit ago, and has NO SPARK (None at Coil, Distributor, or plugs, none ZILCH ZIPPO!), the fuel Pump and CHECK ENGINE light is kicking ON - so CPS is out of the question.... switched ASD Relay with another so the ASD relay isn't the problem. What else could it be? If any, I don't want to go and buy a new Ignition Coil (altho I am about 98% positive thats what the problem is) if it isn't the problem, i want to check all other possibilities before spending any momo. |

If it isnt the CPS could be the Cam Position Sensor. It will give a No Start Condition. Dont know the Ohm Reading 0ff hand. The Manual says to test with a analog voltmeter. Make sure you have Juice from the Ing. Switch.

Re: Ignition Coil
UPDATE......
OK, went up,jeep started right up, went ahead and got the Ignition Coil, put it on, lasted about half an hour then died again and NO SPARK. well the Ign. Coil I got was a wells brand from Autozone. so I went to a local part store and got another one, put it in started right up went to leave lot that the jeep was sitting in and died again - NO SPARK........ NOW I NEED HELP, I have no clue what the prob is. FUEL PUMP is kicking on, CHECK ENGINE light is coming on when the key is turned. WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE, it is way too cold out right now, 22 degrees, I don't want to be tinkering around right now |

Re: Ignition Coil
Checked the Cap and Rotor - they are fine. I have one bad wire #5 spark plug wire has a hole in it. but I don't think this would keep the Ignition Coil from firing any spark at all.
WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE. I have checked everything replaced Ignition Coil twice, switched ASD relay with another, Checked Plugs, Wires (1 bad) and Cap, Rotor. what else could keep the Coil from firing? |

Re: Ignition Coil
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE.....
Apparently that bad wiredoes affect the Ignition Coil. That broken wire was arcing real bad which caused the Ignition Coil to fail. Well I replaced the Plug Wires and I haven't had a problem yet. LESSON LEARNED, |
