'97 Grand Cherokee rear-end noise
Most noticable at speeds 45-65. Sounds like a card in the bike spokes noise especially when coasting at higher speeds. Since it is almost impossible to be under the jeep when I'm going 60, the best I can do to locate the sound is underneath towards the rear of the vehicle. What do ya think?

rear end noise
Does the noise start from a start or when you get to a certain speed.
Have you tried coasting to see if it is motor or transmission or transfercase noise. More details would help. |

Re: '97 Grand Cherokee rear-end noise
Can't usually hear it until reaching speed of about 35-40, becomes louder(more noticable) when coasting. I can't pinpoint exactly, sounds like it's coming from the rear rather than directly underneath me though.

My money is on a U-Joint. Take the weight off of the tires and jiggle the drive lines at both ends.
