Question Breaking in a Nitro R/C

If you break in your engine and you break in your engine and then you let it sit for a couple of months is that bad for your engine?

Was it stored clean with some after-run oil?(and carb covered or at least air filter left in place?)

Also the piston should be at "bottom dead center" so it doesn't stretch out the sleeve.
