93 GL Alternator squeeling
This Taurus is a 3.0 with a 130 amp alternator that squeels ONLY when the hood is down. I'm thinking it might be one of the bearings, and was wondering if anyone would know if there are any oil holes to lubricate them(?). Thanx much, j

If you haven't replaced the drive belt recently...that could be the problem....a cheap belt will squeel after only a few thousand miles..
The first thing I would do is install a new drive belt ....preferrably a Gator back or a Gates brand. If the alt bearing is going bad...you have a new alternator in your future! |
