87 735i pop in

hey guys i bought my 735i 6 months ago not knowing everybody and their dog has one lol anyways its near mint but just started getting problems. 87 with 150 miles no and i mean no rust 900$ tires (each, new)
10 disk changer all leather (of course) new bigger rad, no cruise or air cond. i paid 3000$ cdn and so far i have put a new hanger bearing in (70$ cdn and did all that work myself damn it) so i think i got a good deal but now i got these things happening, if u could give me all ur imput and advise me love u long time

1- the pwer steering pump is going or gone which also powers the brakes i still have steering and braking just not good but ther is fluid trickling out, should i replace pump or maybe its something more simple,
maybe i tightened the belt too much lol

2-my heater is gone, it started dieing and making death noises but now its gone altogether and its - 30 here in my toyota the heater motor was right behind the glove box but im guessing thats wishful thinking if anyone could help me here especaily i would like to do it myself

3-beware of defrost button i hopped in to heat up car and put on defrost, it was like -30 and the defrost was to powerful and it shattered my back glass

thanks for haveing a peek at my meek little 735i i hope someone can help me, ill post and tell u if i fixed it or even just tell me if i bought a lemon, paid too much or if i got a good dealthanks kenny

oh ya just to bitch some more, why do i have no freaking cup holders

Bentleys Publishing http://www.bentleypublishers.com/bmw/index.htm has a CD-ROM that covers your car so you might want to invest in one of those.

The guys at this site http://shrubbery.student.utwente.nl/ probably know more about the BMW heating system than anyone else I can refer you to. In the meantime, they make ceramic heaters that plug into your cigarette lighter. I don't know how well they would work in cold cold Canada.

Sounds like you need to replace the power steering pump since it's probably the seals that are shot. If it makes you feel any better, I'm losing a little fluid from my power steering as well though it's more of a seep, as opposed to a leak.

With brakes I find it easier just to pay someone to fix them rather than deal with the inevitible mess.

Re the cupholders: I read that the Germans were slow to embrace cupholders because of their mindset. It seems to the Germans a car is for driving, not eating, and so they couldn't get used to the North American habit of sipping on Coke as we drive on down the road.

Sorry about the rear window but I don't think I'll have that problem here in Florida. Mind you, the damn tires might melt come August but the rear window defroster has yet to cause a problem.

thanks lib
ty for the sites and ur advise i had to buy a power steering pump, from bmw it was 750 $ cdn but i found a used one for 200 so i guess thats alright and as for the brakes as i said the power steering pump powers the hydraulic brake system so two birds (big freaking tyradactal birds) with one stone, thanks again
